Meet Mila
Mila’s parents were beyond excited to welcome their second baby this past January. But a medical emergency led to Mila being rushed to CHEO moments after she was born. Mila suffered hypoxia, a lack of oxygen getting to her brain and tissues. CHEO’s highly specialized Critical Care Transport Team brought her to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where the team worked to save little Mila’s life. Once she was stabilized, she remained under the watchful eye of the NICU team who supported Mila and her family through those first few months. Mila remains at CHEO where she continues to gain the strength she needs to go home.
